Kolkata Knight Riders beat Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets in their IPL match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday (April 14).
Opener Phil Salt smashed a magnificent 89 off 47 balls while captain Shreyas Iyer was also unbeaten on a run-a-ball 38 as KKR chased down the target of 162 with 26 balls to spare. This was Kolkata's first win over Lucknow in IPL history.

Earlier, LSG posted 161 for 7 in their 20 overs after being invited to bat. Nicholas Pooran top-scored with a 32-ball 45 while captain KL Rahul contributed 39.
For KKR, Mitchell Starc took three wickets while Vaibhav Arora, Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell got a wicket each. Narine gave away just 17 runs from his four overs.
With the win, KKR now have eight points from five matches. They are still placed second in the 10-team IPL 2024 points table, and will be facing table-toppers Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their next match on April 16.
Lucknow, on the other hand, slipped to fifth spot below Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The KL Rahul-led side will now face Chennai in a home game on April 19.
