By MyKhel Staff

LSG vs GT Match Result: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured a commanding 33-run win over Gujarat Titans (GT) in their IPL 2024 encounter at the Ekana Sports Complex in Lucknow on Sunday.

He forged a valuable partnership of 73 runs with skipper KL Rahul (33 off 31 balls) for the third wicket, helping LSG post a competitive total of 163 for 5. Nicholas Pooran's quickfire 32 off 22 balls provided the finishing touches to the innings.

In response, GT faced a daunting chase, with Thakur and Krunal Pandya wreaking havoc with the ball. Thakur claimed an impressive fifer, finishing with figures of 5/30, while Krunal picked up three wickets for just 11 runs. Despite an aggressive start from opener B Sai Sudharsan (31 off 23 balls), GT struggled to build partnerships and were eventually bowled out for 130 in 18.5 overs.

Sudharsan's attacking innings was marred by Thakur's brilliance, who accounted for the wicket of GT skipper Shubman Gill (19) early in the innings. Despite resilient efforts from GT's middle order, including a cameo from Rahul Tewatia (30 off 25 balls), LSG's disciplined bowling attack proved too formidable for the Titans.

Earlier in the match, LSG's innings got off to an eventful start, with Umesh Yadav dismissing in-form batsman Quinton de Kock early in the innings. However, Rahul and Stoinis steadied the ship with a patient partnership before Rahul's dismissal in the 13th over. Stoinis, who was dropped on 43, capitalized on the opportunity to score a vital half-century before falling to Nalkande.

Overall, it was a comprehensive performance by LSG, who showcased their prowess with both bat and ball to outclass GT in all departments of the game. With this victory, LSG will look to carry forward the momentum into their upcoming matches in the IPL 2024 season.
