Former South Africa pacer Morne Morkel has been retained by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as their bowling coach for the IPL 2024. The 38-year-old, who played 86 Test matches for South Africa, would be working alongside LSG's newly-appointed head coach Justin Langer.
Langer has succeeded Andy Flower in the role as the KL Rahul-led side look to win their first title after coming into existence in 2022. The team has made it to the IPL playoffs for two successive times. Gautam Gambhir has worked as a mentor with the Lucknow-based franchise.

Teams are making changes to their coaching setups ahead of the IPL 2024 season. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) parted ways with head coach Sanjay Bangar and director of cricket Mike Hesson, replacing them with Andy Flower at the helm of the star-studded team which is still searching its first IPL trophy.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has also parted ways with Brian Lara. Former RCB coach Daniel Vettori is now the new head coach of the team which was led by Aiden Markram in the IPL 2023.
