IPL 2024: Four Mumbai Indians Youngsters to keep an Eye On this Year

Mumbai Indians will be hoping to resurrect their IPL credentials with a big season in 2024. The five-time champions have been off-coloured in the last two seasons, and need a good outing in the upcoming one this year.

The Paltans have formed a strong squad for the IPL 2024 and managed to retain the core of their squad. The return of Hardik Pandya to the team has further bolstered the team, which was further enhanced with some excellent buys in the auction.

Mumbai Indians

They roped in some top players like Dilshan Madushanka, Jason Behrendorff, while a few youngsters have also arrived at MI ahead of this season. Along with their experienced pros, there are a few talented starlets who will be eager to announce themselves in the big stage. Here are four Mumbai Indians youngsters to watch out for in IPL 2024-

Dewald Brevis

Baby AB, as he is popularly known, Dewald Brevis marked his arrival in the IPL 2022 in emphatic style. The explosive batter is definitely one for the future and has immense quality when in comes to destructive batting.

Brevis has scored 161 runs in seven matches with a superb strike rate of 142 in the IPL. But the Proteas youngster didn't find a match last season due to issues, but will be eager to make amends this year. A decent IPL can open up the door for the T20 World Cup in June, and the 20-year-old will be definitely aiming that.

Nehal Wadhera

Nehal Wadhera has shown his flamboyance with the bat already. Making his debut last season, Wadhera played in staggering 14 times and scored 241 runs with two fifties. The strike rate of 145 speaks volumes of the Ludhiana-born player, who will be aiming to reach greater heights.

The 23-year-old is crafty with the bat, where he can knock around and also go for big blows if necessary. Wadhera can become a pillar in the MI batting, which may miss the services of Surya Kumar Yadav for some time. So keep an eye on this exciting talent.

Shivalik Sharma

Shivalik Sharma is a new addition to the Mumbai Indians setup. The Baroda player is mainly a batter who can also bowl decent leg-break. Shivalik is known for his hard-hitting batting, and has already picked up wickets in the limited-overs domestic matches.

The 25-year-old Baroda player can be utilized as an Impact Player or in some other role, and team management will keep close tabs on his progress.

Dilshan Madushanka

Sri Lanka's pace sensation Dilshan Madushanka will be playing his first IPL season with the Mumbai Indians. The 23-year-old left-arm pacer was the biggest success for Sri Lanka in the World Cup 2023, and would be eager to replicate the same in the IPL.

Madushanka's pace, accuracy up front can make him a lethal weapon in the power play. With 35 ODI and 13 T20I wickets already to his name, Madushanka is someone who is expected to share bowling exploits alongside Jasprit Bumrah. It is to be seen how things pan out for him, but MI will have high hopes.
