IPL 2024: Mustafizur Rahman pens down emotional post for MS Dhoni as he leaves CSK camp for BAN vs ZIM T20Is

IPL 2024: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Mustafizur Rahman penned down an emotional post for MS Dhoni as he left the team camp to feature in Bangladesh's 5-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.

Rahman left the IPL 2024 as the joint second-highest wicket-taker alongside Jasprit Bumrah. The duo are one wicket short of T Natarajan, who is currently the owner of Purple Cap with 15 scalps in 8 matches.

Bumrah has 14 wickets from 10 games, while Rahman picked as many wickets in nine matches at an average of 22.71 and an economy rate of 9.26.

Mustafizur Rahman missed a game for CSK earlier this season as he had to leave for Bangladesh for visa formalities ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and the West Indies.

The Bangladesh left-arm pacer was roped in by the five-time champions at his base price of Rs 2 crore. He revamped his IPL career under MS Dhoni and emerged as the side's key pacer in the ongoing season which will conclude on May 26.

Mustafizur Rahman acknowledged the support from guidance from former CSK coach MS Dhoni in an Instagram post on Friday, May 3. The 28-year-old said he would be remembering the tips from Dhoni.

"Thanks for everything Mahi bhai. It was a special feeling to share the same dressing room with a legend like you. Thanks for keeping faith in me everytime. Appreciating your valuable tips, I will remember those things. Looking forward to meeting and playing with you again soon," he wrote on Instagram alongside a picture in which he could be seen posing with Dhoni and his iconic number 7 jersey.

"With Love To Fizz," MS Dhoni wrote with his signature on his CSK jersey gifted to Mustafizur Rahman.

Mustafizur Rahman did not feature in the first T20I against Zimbabwe on Friday, May 3. He is expected to feature in the second game in Chattogram on Sunday, May 5.
