Mumbai Indians have appointed Hardik Pandya as the captain for the IPL 2024 season. The franchise announced the new change on Friday (December 15).

Hardik Pandya, who started his career as a Mumbai Indians player, went on to captain Gujarat Titans for the last 2 IPL seasons. But ahead of this trade window, it was a massive moment as Pandya returned to the Mumbai Indians in an all-cash deal. And now the Palrans have announced Hardik taking over the reins from Rohit Sharma for captaincy in the upcoming season.

With his new appointment, Hardik Pandya will replace the five-time IPL winning captain Rohit Sharma, who also led the Indian team in the final of World Cup 2023 last month.
