Some of the star New Zealand players are all set to miss the Pakistan tour of New Zealand in April due to their commitments to IPL 2024, which starts on March 22. New Zealand will play a five-match T20 series in Pakistan on April 14-28.
New Zealand players, who are expected to miss the international duties, are Kane Williamson, Daryl Mitchell, Lockie Ferguson, Rachin Ravindra, and Trent Boult, reported the local media.

The IPL will continue till May 26, followed by the World Cup in the USA and West Indies from June 2 onwards. The Pakistan vs New Zealand five-match T20 series will be played in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
In total, eight New Zealand players are lined-up to play the IPL 2024. The players are Devon Conway (Chennai Super Kings), Daryl Mitchell (CSK), Rachin Ravindra (CSK), Mitchell Santner (CSK), Kane Williamson (Gujarat Titans), Lockie Ferguson (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Trent Boult (Rajasthan Royals), Glenn Philipps (Sunrisers Hyderabad).
The limited time available to prepare for the T20 World Cup post IPL 2024 means several of the nations may find it difficult to release their players for the cash-rich franchise tournament. In the past, England and Australian players have often opted out of the IPL due to important series lined-up in the year.
Prior to the World Cup in June in the USA and the West Indies, the Pakistani side will play a series of Twenty20 matches against Afghanistan, New Zealand, and England following the Pakistan Super League.
