MS Dhoni s one-ball cameo saw noise level hit peak in CSK vs LSG IPL 2024 match

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were handed their second successive loss in the space of five days by the same opposition as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) sealed a 6-wicket win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed an unbeaten century and Shivam Dube scored a 27-ball 66 before Dhoni arrived for the final two balls in the innings, and smashed a four off his only delivery to take the team to a challenging total of 210.

That last-ball 4 from Dhoni matched Dube's 16th over 6 in terms of noise levels as the Chepauk crowd went wild on two occasions during the CSK innings and once in the LSG run-chase.

The sound level was at 124dB on both the occasions, while Deepak Chahar's dismissal of Quinton de Kock also saw the noise levels hit 123dB. However, the Chennai crowd were silenced by a tremendous century by Marcus Stoinis.

Stoinis' 124 not out off 63 balls saw LSG chase down the highest total in the Chennai venue with three balls to spare, sending the Chepauk crowd back on their way with glum faces.

Coming back to the noise levels this season, it has alway been on the high when CSK has played especially when Dhoni is at the crease or even when he does his usual stuff behind the stumps of taking some really good catches.

Earlier, during CSK's match against Kolkata Knight Riders, the crowd's support at Chepauk forced Andre Russell to cover his ears to shield himself from the deafening noise caused by Dhoni's entrance.
