IPL 2024 Noise Levels: The noise levels have peaked in the past few seasons of the Indian Premier League as crowds returned to full capacity after three seasons of behind closed-doors or limited audience allowed games due to the COVID pandemic.

The one player, who has triggered the spike, is the veteran Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The Chennai Super Kings great, who is at the fag end of his career, has attracted huge crows whether he plays at home - MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai or the other venues since 2023.

MS Dhoni entrance sees noise levels peak during IPL 2024

In the title-winning IPL 2023 season, Dhoni's entrance at a venue saw noise levels recorded at 112, 120, 117, 115, 115, 112, 112, 112, 117, 112, 117, 120, 115, 120 as per the broadcaster Star Sports.

A season later, the decibels have at a whole new level once again when Dhoni has walked out to bat or executed a dismissal behind the stumps. Apart from Dhoni's entrances, there were few more instances that saw the noise levels peak during the IPL 2024.

Dhoni's entrance to bat at Chepauk also forced Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Andre Russell to cover his ears as he couldn't handle the crowd's noise. But that game didn't see the highest noise level. So, let's take a look at the highest decibels in the season as per Star Sports Shormeter:

Top 5 Moments When Noise Levels Peaked in IPL 2024

1. Ajinkya Rahane's Dismissal at Wankhede (131 dB): The Mumbai crowd burst into celebration when Rahane was caught at mid on by Hardik Pandya after trying to pull Gerald Coetzee in the second over of the IPL El Clasico.

2. MS Dhoni's Chepauk Entry (130 dB): Every entrance of Dhoni has seen the crowd go berserk with whistles and chants, leading to deafening noise at the venue with CSK's home ground reacting the loudest.

3. Devdutt Padikkal's Golden Duck at Wankhede (130 dB): The Lucknow Super Giants batter's first ball LBW dismissal off Nuwan Thusara in the third delivery of the match, leading the Mumbai crowd into loud celebrations.

4. Thusara Dismissal of Pooran at Wankhede (129 dB): In the same game that saw Padikkal depart for a golden duck, Thusara removing a dangerous Pooran, who had scored 75 off 29 balls, caught at long on by Suryakumar Yadav also saw the Mumbai crowd go wild.

5. Rahul Falls To Chawla (129 dB): The MI vs LSG game recorded another instance when the noise levels peaked when Piyush Chawla removed KL Rahul to complete a team hattrick following on from the two wickets by Thusara in the previous over.

There were several other instances when the decibels were high during the IPL 2024 season especially in games at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
