Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis would love to have a Mumbai Indians star in his side, as the RCB captain said after their match against Mumbai Indians on Thursday (April 11).
RCB suffered yet another dismal defeat at the hands of the Paltans. Despite scoring 196 runs, the Bengaluru side failed to contain MI as they chased it down with more than four overs to spare.

Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma gave MI a terrific start. Rohit Sharma scored 38 off 24 balls, while Ishan Kishan went on to score 69 runs in just 34 balls. Another piece of batting mayhem came from Suryakumar Yadav, who announced his arrival in IPL 2024 with a sublime half-century, scoring 52 runs in just 19 deliveries.
But RCB captain Faf du Plessis doesn't want any RCB batting stars in his team. Instead, the South African conceded that he would love to have Jasprit Bumrah in his side.
Bumrah was at his very best yet again against RCB. The pacer picked up 5 wickets in the match and conceded just 21 runs in his four overs. The consistency and the class of Bumrah make him a treasured asset and Du Plessis wished he could have the 30-year-old in his team.
"Every time you see him with the ball in his hand (on Jasprit Bumrah), you think you'll have to put him under pressure. But he has so many skills, bowls well under pressure, he bowls with the same action and has a lot of variations. I think he has become even better under the guidance of Lasith Malinga. We would have loved if he was part of our team," Du Plessis said at the post-match press conference.
RCB have now lost their fifth match in this campaign out of six matches. They will be up against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday (April 15) in their next match.
