The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) partnered with Tata Group like last season to plant trees for every dot ball bowled during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Playoff stages. And as part of that initiative over 1 Lakh saplings will be planted.
As part of India's green initiative, BCCI continued their partnership with Tata Group to plant 500 trees across India for every dot bowled during the IPL 2024 Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2 and the IPL 2024 Final.

The initiative was coined in the 2023 season, but the 2024 season has overtaken the numbers from the last edition despite being a record-breaking season for most sixes and fours in a single campaign. Here is a look at the dots bowled in IPL 2024 playoffs:
In Qualifier 1, when Kolkata Knight Riders beat Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, to seal their final spot, a total of 73 dot balls were bowled, resulting in 36,500 tree saplings being planted.
In the Eliminator at the same Ahmedabad venue, where Rajasthan Royals beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru, a total of 74 dot balls were bowled, meaning 37,000 trees were planted with Trent Boult contributing to 14 dots.
In Qualifier 2 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where SRH beat RR to seal their final spot, a total of 96 dot balls were bowled, meaning 48,000 trees were being planted.
In the IPL 2024 final at the same venue in Chennai, where KKR beat SRH again to clinch their third IPL title, a total of 80 dot balls were bowled, meaning 40,000 trees will be planted.
