Speaking exclusively at Star Sports Press Room Show, Harbhajan said on the play-offs,” This week is very crucial. If Sunrisers Hyderabad wins both their matches, then they will also go to 18 points. So, they also have a chance to come second in the play-offs race.

"There is a traffic jam for rest of the teams to qualify for play-offs. If CSK wins, they will also go to 16 points. If they lose, they will also be left at 14. If RCB wins the match, they will also be left at 14.

"So, there are many teams that will be left at 14. It is also possible that we may witness two teams qualify at 14. Only the upcoming days will reveal, who will be those two teams."

Importance of Run Rate

Ambati Rayudu emphasized the crucial role of run rate in this tight contest. RCB's favorable run rate positions them well for qualification, but the next two games pose a significant challenge for Sunrisers Hyderabad. With the unpredictable nature of the game and Rajasthan Royals' recent struggles, the playoffs race remains wide open.

Rayudu, cricket expert and commentator with official TV broadcaster Star Sports for IPL 2024 on RCB said, “The run rate will matter a lot here. RCB has a good run rate currently, and the team with a good run rate has a very good chance to qualify right now.

"The upcoming 2 games will not be easy for Sunrisers Hyderabad as well. So you never know who can qualify and who can’t. Rajasthan Royals is also not playing that well, so anything can happen”.
