IPL 2024: Preity Zinta ‘not very happy’ after PBKS defeat, cites frustrating reasons for Setbacks

Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta is not happy with the team's performance but believes the team can come back if they win their last few matches in the IPL 2024.

Punjab's two-match winning run was halted at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala as they were beaten by Chennai Super Kings. PBKS remain 8th in the table with 8 points in 11 matches after the defeat. With the final three matches remaining, Punjab will have to get three victories to give themselves any realistic chance for playoff qualification.

Despite the trouble, Preity Zinta is hopeful that the team can launch a comeback in the final few matches and sneak in one of the playoff spots. She answered on her X profile when a fan asked her views of the Kings' performance in the IPL 2024 season.

She revealed her unhappiness and cited the injury of Shikhar Dhawan as a cause of their current situation. The PBKS owner also conceded the fact of their close defeats this season. Punjab came close to many matches and lost three to four matches in effectively the last ball.

"Obviously, not very happy. We lost four games in the last ball. We lost our captain to injury. Some games was spectacular and some were not up to the mark. We will only do well in the future if we win our home games. Big thank you our fans for always supporting us through thick n thin," Zinta responded to the question.

They are up against RCB on May 9 and it will be a cracking affair as the Bengaluru side are also in a similar situation. If Punjab can win their next three matches, they will finish on 14 points, which still may not be enough for qualification.
