IPL 2024: Ravichandran Ashwin and Sourav Ganguly Share Heartfelt Messages on Social Media

Ravichandran Ashwin and Sourav Ganguly caught up in the IPL 2024 and shared a picture together with some heartfelt exchanges with each other.

Ravichandran Ashwin is a massive admirer of Sourav Ganguly. He holds the former BCCI president high for the latter's transforming leadership. Ganguly, on the other hand, has immense respect for Ashwin and often bigs up the off-spinner for his stellar record for India.

The duo had a meet during the IPL 2024 match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals. Ashwin is a part of the Rajasthan squad whereas Ganguly is the Director of Cricket for the Delhi Capitals.

Ashwin shared a picture of him along with Sourav Ganguly and wrote, "Always a delight to meet the great man. He inspired a generation through his leadership".

Ganguly replied with equal admiration for Ashwin and said Ashwin was on his way to 600 Test wickets. The veteran spinner became only the 2nd Indian to get more than 500 Test wickets.

"Such kind words. Thank you.. 500 test wickets and on ur way to 600. Do u realise how big is that," Ganguly replied.

Ashwin replied back with respect again and credited the former India captain for inspiring an entire generation.

"There is no current generation of players without people like you, who inspired us. Very kind words and always grateful," Ashwin replied back.

The fans absolutely enjoyed this organic exchange of admiration and respect by two players of different generations of Indian cricket. Ashwin has always been vocal about Ganguly's role in transforming Indian cricket.

Ganguly's Delhi Capitals have lost their first two IPL matches this season. Rajasthan Royals have started their season with two victories and Ashwin has played a key part in those matches as well.
