Born in 1920 in Udumalaipettai, Coimbatore, Ramdas's love for cricket began early in life. A veteran of the British Military, he served in the Army unit called Air-right precaution during his younger years. Even then, cricket held a special place in his heart, and he continued to play the sport whenever he could. "I am not an old man," Ramdas declares proudly, "I am senior youth. I like cricket, and I watch cricket."
Clad in his cherished CSK jersey, Ramdas exudes enthusiasm as he discusses his favourite players, including the iconic MS Dhoni, who recently stepped down from the captaincy.
His son, seated beside him, shares stories of his father's deep connection to the game, recounting how Ramdas's passion for cricket inspired those around him. "He used to be our bowler, our umpire," his son reminisces. "Since the IPL has started, he has been following regularly. He is a total cricket lover."
Despite his age, Ramdas's spirit remains indomitable. When asked if he would travel to Delhi to watch CSK play, his response is resolute: "I will walk and go." His determination to witness his beloved team in action knows no bounds, a testament to his unwavering devotion.
And what about meeting his cricketing idols, particularly MS Dhoni? Ramdas's answer is simple yet profound: "Yes. Whenever he has time and when he calls, we should go. We should go according to his time." Such is the humility and respect of a true fan, whose loyalty knows no limits.
