IPL 2024: 'The Camaraderie is crucial', Ex-Australia captain hails young duo who can be future of India

By MyKhel Staff

Former Australia captain Tom Moody has praised India's young duo for their excellent partnership and camaraderie on the field.

Gujarat Titans duo Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan played two fantastic knocks for them against Chennai Super Kings. Gill and Sudharsan scored twin hundreds at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which scripted a crucial victory for them.

Gill scored 104 runs off 55 balls, whereas Sudharsan scored 103 off just 51 balls. The pair stitched a massive partnership of 210 runs for 1st wicket. Former Australia captain Tom Moody praised the duo and hailed the way they complemented each other. He also pointed out the backing of each other on the pitch, and depicted the importance of their budding brotherhood.

"Firstly, the partnership was nothing short of extraordinary. They complemented each other exceptionally well, evident in their visible enjoyment on the field, as Shubman Gill expressed during the post-match presentation. This camaraderie is crucial for any backing and partnership. But the way this young player goes about his business is a joy to watch. He seems so calm under pressure," Moody said.

"He seems to have the right answers at the right time. He knows when to go big to look for that boundary to take pressure out of an over and he seems to be able to keep pace with the game. Now that game was going at a great rate. The strike rate was very high for a long period of time and they didn't let CSK and he, in particular, didn't let CSK settle at all as a bowling unit," the Australian added.

Gill and Sudharsan are both in the budding stages of their India career. Although the former has been an experienced name in the international arena, Sudharsan's India career is only 3 ODIs old. With the GT duo's possible status in the Indian team in the coming days, their mutual backing and friendship can only be benefitial for Indian cricket in the long run.
