IPL 2024 trade window is still open and the rumours don't seem to die down on players being linked with move to different franchises ahead of the auction, which is scheduled to take place on December 19.
IPL trade has been the talk of the town since the biggest ever move in the league history saw Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya return to his former side Mumbai Indians from the Gujarat Titans in an all-cash deal that reportedly also includes an undisclosed fee paid to GT.

Pandya's trade deal forced Mumbai Indians to ship out Australian all-rounder Cameron Green in a cash-only trade to Royal Challengers Bangalore as the Mumbai-based side needed to add more money to their remaining purse of Rs 25 Lakhs.
The latest gossip is Kolkata Knight Riders, who released 12 players on the IPL 2024 retention day (November 26), are interested in adding more Indian batters to their line up before the auction and have already made contact to land a player, including a former Knight Rider.
According to the rumours floating on the internet, KKR have contacted Sunrisers Hyderabad to enquire about a possible trade for Rahul Tripathi and Mayank Agarwal as an all-cash deal.
Although nothing is impossible, this rumour seems to be a non starter as Kolkata Knight Riders led by Shreyas Iyer is stacked with Indian batting options. KKR has Iyer, his namesake Venkatesh, Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh.
Also, KKR will look to keep their Rs 32.70 Crore for the auction as they need to address their pace bowling options. However, a deal to bring back Tripathi, who was released in 2021, could be tempting for the purple and gold side.
SRH had bought Tripathi for Rs 8.5 Crore in the 2022 mega auction, and Mayank for Rs 8.25 Crore. So, if KKR do end up going for one of them, they will blow their purse, but they can use a player in the trade to lower the fee.
Fans on social media have suggested Suyash Sharma could be used to trade for Tripathi. But common sense will tell that KKR will be keen to keep hold of a mystery spinner in their line up. So, this just seems to be a rumour for now and will not die down till December 12, when the window pauses.
The IPL trade window will once again open after the auction and will remain open until one month before the season starts. So, expect more such rumours in the coming days and weeks.
The trade window is being looked at by most franchises as there are reports that there will no longer be a mega auction ahead of the 2025 season with a football-like transfer window likely to be the trend going forward.
