In the most wildest rumour of the IPL 2024 trade window, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma is set to be included in a swap deal for Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya.
With trade window approaching a close this weekend on Sunday (November 26), the same day when franchises announce their retained and released players list, there has been a lot of gossip on the player trades.

According to a report by News18, Rohit or Jofra Archer could be involved in a direct swap to bring Hardik back to Mumbai Indians. And if the move does happen, Rohit will lead Gujarat Titans, while Hardik will captain Mumbai Indians.
The report also adds that if it's Archer that is part of the straight swap for Pandya, then Rohit will continue to lead Mumbai Indians in the next season with the star India all-rounder taking over the reigns in the 2025 season.
Mumbai Indians, however, will find it tough to let go a local lad, who has led them to five IPL crowns. But, there are reports that Rohit is thinking about his future in the T20 format. This may have led to the latest gossip.
Rohit, who led India to the ODI World Cup 2023 final, is also reportedly considering his futrure in the T20 format, having missed the T20I matches since the 2022 T20 World Cup.
According to a report from PTI, Rohit had discussed about his future in the shortest format of the game, before the start of the 50-over World Cup, and is likely to concentrate on ODI and Tests to prolong the last phase of his cricketing career.
It is very unlikely that Rohit will leave his home side to join Gujarat Titans during this trade window, but Hardik could still return to Mumbai Indians with Archer going the other way.
Also, Rohit would like to end his MI career on a high. So, the Indian skipper may remain in Mumbai Indians for another year and look to win the IPL title for the seventh time in his career.
As it stands, it's just a rumour. But stay tuned for further updates as there are three days left in the IPL trade window. Three players have been traded so far in the current window.
Mumbai Indians traded in West Indies all-rounder Romariao Shepherd from Lucknow Super Giants, who also traded Avesh Khan in direct swap for Devdutt Padikkal.
Most big moves could happen before the next IPL in 2025, when there will be a mega auction as opposed to a mini auction this year, which is scheduled to take place in Dubai on December 19.
