Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, established in 1974 and renovated in 2010, will host a few matches during the seventeenth edition of the Indian Premier League – IPL 2024, which is set to start from Friday (March 22).
Wankhede Stadium, which houses the headquarters of MCA, BCCI and IPL, has served as home venues to Mumbai state teams, the Indian cricket teams the Mumbai-based IPL franchise, the joint record champions Mumbai Indians.

The Mumbai venue, which has hosted numerous high-profile matches, including the 2011 Cricket World Cup Final and the last match of Sachin Tendulkar, will play hosts to seven home games of two-time champions Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024.
Wankhede Stadium will be hosting it’s fourteenth season of the cash-rich league matches, having hosted several matches in IPL, the home games of MI in 13 seasons and as a neutral host during the 2021 season.
