IPL 2024: Who can score most runs and pick most wickets for LSG?

With IPL 2024 just around the corner, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be looking to field their best playing XI such that they can pose some serious threats to the oppositions and make a bid for their maiden IPL title. LSG made their entry in the competition in IPL 2022 wherein they qualified for the playoffs in their debut season.

Led by KL Rahul from the vanguard, LSG finished third on the table but lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator. Coming to IPL 2023, they once again made it through the playoffs but lost to Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator clash.

They made some pretty good signings at the auction and bolstered their arsenal going forward in the fresh season. LSG will kick-start their IPL 2024 campaign against Rajasthan Royals in the away fixture in Jaipur on March 24. Let's now take a look at the players who can essay most runs and take most wickets for LSG for the IPL 2024 season.

IPL 2024: Three players who can score most runs for LSG

KL Rahul: The Bengaluru-born cricketer will be looking forward to ticking the boxes as a captain and batsman for LSG in IPL 2024 season. The classy batter who holds a truckload of experience in the IPL understands the nuances of the game and knows when to switch gears in building the foundation. He is expected to score chunk of runs for LSG in the next season. Having been a part of IPL since 2013, he scored 4163 runs at an average of 46.8 including 4 centuries and 33 fifties.

Quinton de Kock: South African cricketer Quinton de Kock is renowned for his potential to score runs at a rate of knots at the top of the order. The experienced southpaw can be a real threat to the opposition teams in the powerplay overs. He is expected to lead LSG's batting attack by example in the next season. Having played 96 games so far, he mustered 2907 runs at an average of 32.3 including 2 centuries and 20 fifties.

Marcus Stoinis: Australia's all-rounder who enjoys thriving in T20 cricket scored the most runs for LSG in the last season. Stoinis scored 408 runs in 15 appearances including 3 fifties at a strike rate of 150. For sure, he will be looking forward to assisting the middle-order unit with his hard-hitting abilities. The Australian scored 1478 runs in 82 games including 7 fifties.

IPL 2024: Three players who can pick most wickets for LSG

Ravi Bishnoi: LSG immensely benefitted from the bowling services of Ravi Bishnoi in the last two seasons. He is known for his ability to turn the ball and deceive the batters at the best scene. He accounted for 13 dismissals in 2022 and followed it up with 16 wickets in 2023 season. Having played 52 games, he has taken 53 wickets to his name.

Shamar Joseph: West Indies international Shamar Joseph burst onto the scene with his impeccable fifer in his debut Test against Australia. In the second innings of the same match, he took 7 wickets and helped West Indies clinch a historic win at The Gabba. The paceman will join the LSG for INR 3 crore after Mark Wood was ruled out of IPL 2024 for undisclosed reasons.

Mohsin Khan: Mohsin Khan left an indelible mark as a pacer by pitching in with consistent bowling performances. He accounted for 14 dismissals in 9 games in IPL 2022 season at an impressive economy of 5.97. Unfortunately, he sustained an injury to his bowling arm against Mumbai Indians which kept him out of action for more than a year. He was ruled out of the first half of IPL 2023 season and managed to play five games, taking three wickets to his name.
