Who is Allah Ghazanfar?

Allah Ghazanfar is an Afghanistan player who is mainly a bowler and bowls right arm off-spin. He was born on July 15, 2007 in the Zurmat district of Afghanistan.

Ghazanfar started his career as a pacer but converted to spin bowling. The 16-year-old was the youngest player in the IPL 2024 auction and is regarded as a top prospect for his country. He is 6 ft 2 in tall and falls into the mystery spinner category as many of his fellow Afghan compatriots.

Ghazanfar played in the U19 World Cup in South Africa this year and picked up 8 wickets for his country. He also made his senior team debut against Ireland and played two ODI matches. The teenager has joined KKR on his base price of Rs 20 lakh.

As Ghazanfar prepares to showcase his talent in the IPL, he carries with him the hopes and dreams of countless young cricketers back home.

The young Afghan has also become the third replaced player in the KKR squad this season. Phil Salt and Dushmantha Chameera have already arrived as replacements at the franchise as they were included in the places of Jason Roy and Gus Atkinson.
