The IPL 2024 auction has concluded with a blast and the ten franchises have restructured their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
It was a money fest among the ten teams, who splashed their money to get some of the prized assets in their teams. The IPL records were shattered as Kolkata Knight Riders bought Australia pacer Mitchell Starc for a whopping Rs. 24.75 crore price.

But defending champions Chennai Super Kings had an impeccable auction with some excellent deals, and perhaps will be the happiest to leave Dubai after the Tuesday extravaganza at the desert city.
CSK went with a decent purse of INR 31.4 crore and only needed six players to buy in the auction, which had them in an advanced position already.
But amid the chaos of the auction and the money being spent around them, CSK roped in a few superb players at absolute bargain.
| Player | Country | Role | Price (in INR) |
| Rachin Ravindra | New Zealand | All-Rounder | Rs. 1.8 crore |
| Shardul Thakur | India | All-Rounder | Rs. 4 crore |
| Daryl Mitchell | New Zealand | All-Rounder | Rs. 14 crore |
| Sameer Rizvi | India | Batter | Rs. 8.4 crore |
| Mustafizur Rahman | Bangladesh | Bowler | Rs. 2 crore |
| Avinash Rao Aravelly | India | Wicketkeeper | Rs. 20 lakh |
From the aforementioned list of players, it is easily fathomed why Chennai Super Kings will be ecstatic with how things unfolded in the auction.
When other players were going for a humongous amount of money, CSK roped in both Rachin Ravindra and Shardul Thakur for a combined fee of 5.8 crore. Ravindra, the Kiwi sensation can be a massive asset for them and getting him for justice around 1.8 crore was an absolute steal.
Shardul Thakur also was a superb buy. The Indian all-rounder was snapped up for just a modest 4 crore, and that will surely be proved as an absolute bargain. Shardul has played with CSK in the past and it was a good buy from the emotional angle as well.
CSK also roped in Daryl Mitchell, another top Kiwi player who did exceedingly well in the World Cup 2023. Mitchell's ability to play spin and bowl spin can be a big bonus for CSK, especially in their home ground in Chennai.
They also broke the bank for uncapped batter Sameer Rizvi, who has made a huge name for himself as a bright prospect. The 20-year-old brings quality to the CSK middle order, which was further bolstered with the arrival of Avinash Rao Aravelly.
Bangladesh's premier bowler Mustafizur Rahman was also a smart pick at base price, who can be another big weapon in the CSK artillery.
CSK have covered all their bases and the money they had to spend for both Ravindra and Shardul will be a big cause of hurrah for them. The five-time IPL champions would be aiming to go one better, and MS Dhoni has been provided a perfect set of warriors in the auction.
