The Indian Premier League has now entered in its business stage and the final phase of the season will commence on Tuesday.
As the group stages have concluded, four teams find their way to the playoffs. Only four matches are there to play this season as we enter the playoffs.

Since the start of the season, the IPL has been a continuous process every day. The games come thick and fast and the regularity of the IPL makes it a part of the routine of the people in this time of the year.
But today (May 20) has got a certain break in the IPL as there are no matches. As the playoffs start tomorrow, questions may arise in the mind as to why there is a break of a day, so let's explain.
The break today is mainly due to logistical and players' travelling reasons. Generally, the IPL playoff venue is determined on the basis of last season's performance. THe runners-up of the previous season hosts the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator, while the Qualifier 2 and Final is hosted by the venue of the defending champions.
Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad will play each other in the Qualifier 1 in Ahmedabad tomorrow (May 21). KKR and SRH had a match yesterday (May 19) in Guwahati and Hyderabad respectively, so if Qualifier 1 was scheduled today, the Knight Riders and the Sunrisers wouldn't even have 10 hours of rest before the start of their all-important playoff match.
It would have also been a logistical and transportation hazard for the organizers to manage and accommodate the players. So, that is the reason why there is a gap today. The two teams will reach Ahmedabad today and play the match tomorrow.
In an IPL season, the action is generally fast and furious. The matches take place every day and in the long span of more than two months, there are only Three days without a match.
Day-Off 1: The Day between the Final Group Stage Match and Qualifier 1
Day-Off 2: The Day between Eliminator and Qualifier 2
Day-Off 3: The Day between Qualifier 2 and Final
These are the three allotted days in an IPL season which have no matches. As we may have now understood the reason behind Day-Off 1, it is almost the same for Day-Off 2, as the winning team of the Eliminator requires time for their Qualifier 2 match as it also involves travelling to a new venue.
The day before the Final match is another off day as it involves broadcasting commitments, press conferences and other involvements. Also, it is only necessary for a day's rest before the teams play a Final.
