Kolkata Knight Riders felt the wrath of nature as their flight was diverted to Guwahati instead of landing in Kolkata.
KKR secured a fantastic victory over Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday (May 5) and the team was coming to Kolkata on Monday (May 6).

The Knight Riders took their flight from Lucknow before 6 pm and was supposed to land in Kolkata at about 7:30 pm. But at about, 8:45 pm, the Knight Riders flight landed in Guwahati instead of Kolkata, as the team announced on Monday.
The flight involving the KKR players was diverted to Guwahati because of dangerous rain conditions in Kolkata. There was a prediction of rain in Kolkata on Monday and from afternoon onwards, it poured relentlessly.
Along with the rain, there was a severe thunderstorm as well. Due to the inclement weather conditions, the flight was rerouted to Guwahati. Their flight circled around 45 minutes to attempt a landing at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Airport in Kolkata, but the dangerous conditions meant the flight couldn't land.

KKR did a live Instagram video where the players could be seen having a fun time despite tiredness on the flight. Some players like Harshit Rana, Manish Pandey, Suyash Sharma were in a buoyant mood while Chetan Sakariya was accused of eating his fifth meal on the flight already!
The flight has received clearance to land in Kolkata and was scheduled to land around 11 pm at the Kolkata airport. But the latest reports say that the flight was again diverted after failed landing in Kolkata and they have now moved to Varanasi.
KKR will be taking on Mumbai Indians in their next IPL 2024 match on Saturday (May 11) at the Eden Gardens.
