Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are indispensable. Since the inception of IPL in 2008, Kohli has been part of the RCB setup.
The teenager of 2008 has become a world beater in 2024 but RCB has remained a constant in Virat Kohli's life. He has been a stalwart for the franchise over the years.

Kohli has over 7,500 IPL runs for RCB with numerous records behind his name. He has scored the most centuries in IPL, and has also the most runs by a player in the tournament. The only void is the trophy cabinet as RCB have failed to win a title in the past 16 years.
They have reached the final thrice but could never secure a title in those attempts. Although personal achievements are a massive aspect of an athlete, winning trophies and collective success play a massive part in their career as well.
RCB's underwhelming outings over the years thus have always raised a question of whether Virat Kohli must have changed sides by now. The Indian legend wouldn't have a shortage of suitors and recently he was asked if he had ever thought of leaving the Bengaluru outfit.
And Kohli came up with an emotional reply. The RCB legend said that he had thought about leaving the franchise at certain times and he was approached as well, but a piece of thinking changed his mindset.
"To be very honest I have thought about it (about leaving RCB). Yes, I won't shy away and I have been approached many times as well to come into the auction. Then I thought about it. I was like, at the end of the day, everyone has X number of years that they live. Then you die and life moves on. There have been many great people who have won trophies, but no one addresses you like that, like 'he's an IPL champion or he is a World Cup Champion'", Kohli said in a podcast.
The RCB player says he won't leave RCB as the loyalty to the team is far more important to him than winning an IPL trophy.
"If you are a good person people like you, if you are bad they stay away from you and eventually that's what life is about. So for me, the loyalty with RCB is far greater from five people in the room saying you finally won the IPL," Kohli added.
The India legend is in excellent batting form this season as well but he will have to wait another year to give another shot at the IPL trophy quest.
