Abhishek Sharma is emerging as a nucleus of the Sunrisers Hyderabad batting blitzkrieg unit as the youngster is making a reputation for himself as a mayhem-maker.

The young Punjab player has been batting at an immense pace in this IPL 2024 season. Amid Sunrisers Hyderabad's destructive batting approach, Abhishek has found himself at home.

He has already scored 257 runs in this IPL season and is batting at a mammoth strike rate of 215. He has hit 18 fours and 24 sixes already this season. The SRH batter was at his destructive best again in the match against Delhi Capitals.

Along with Head, the pair added a record 125 runs in the powerplay. And Abhishek bludgeoned past the DC bowlers with a magnificent 46-run knock in just 12 balls. But the player says his mentor Yuvraj Singh will be upset with him.

"He would be quite upset at the last I would say. But overall I think he will be happy. He always wants me to bat for longer overs. I am trying my best, it's just that we are finding more boundaries than we are thinking, so I think he will be okay. But I think that I would hear from him a lot," Abhishek said after the victory over Delhi Capitals.

Abhishek Sharma fears that Yuvraj Singh will be unhappy because the former India batter wants him to bat long in every time. Whenever the youngster gets a start, the imperative thing is to convert it into a big score.

But Abhishek, despite his excellent start in the last match against DC, failed to score a fifty. And probably that hits the reason why Yuvraj Singh may not be that much impressed with him. Although the youngster has been batting superbly, It is the consistency and scoring big runs, which may elevate him to the next level and propel him towards an India team selection.
