Sarfaraz Khan: How can RCB reunite Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz in IPL 2024?

The buzz around the name of Sarfaraz Khan is palpable across the country after his stellar Test debut for India.

Sarfaraz made his elusive international debut in the ongoing Test series against England and showed his mettle with two half-centuries in two innings.

IPL 2024: How can Virat Kohli reunite with Sarfaraz Khan at RCB?

Things have turned for good for the youngster, after a series of disappointments last year. Despite scoring heaps of runs, Sarfaraz was continuously being overlooked in the India setup. Along with that, the despairs compounded when he found no bidders in the IPL.

The hard-hitting batter had no suitors in the IPL 2024 auction despite a modest Rs 20 lakh base price. He had just four matches for Delhi Capitals last season where he managed only 53 runs, but getting unsold in the auction must have been a big blow.

But as things have become rosy, there are speculations about Sarfaraz's potential move in the IPL this year. Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir has spoken highly of the Mumbai batter and KKR is leading the race for his signature.

Can RCB sign Sarfaraz Khan?

Sarfaraz Khan started his IPL journey with RCB and played from 2015 to 2018 with them. Virat Kohli always liked the youngster and was once seen giving a bow to Sarfaraz after a stunning batting performance in RCB colours.

RCB are said to be interested in the player but in order to reunite Virat Kohli with Sarfaraz Khan, they will have to bank on current squad players. They can only sign a player if one of the existing player gets injured or withdraws his name. Also, RCB completed the 25 players squad quota during the auction, which further complicates their quest to bring back Sarfaraz ahead of IPL 2024.
