Pace bowler Yash Dayal has revealed how Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) turned around their campagn after being written off following seven defeats in the first eight matches of the IPL 2024 season.
After six consecutive defeats which had seen them rooted at the foot of the points table, RCB has gone on a five-match winning streak to get back in the conversation for IPL 2024 playoff spot.

In their most recent match, RCB defeated Delhi Capitals by 47 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday (May 12) to leap to fifth spot on the table with 12 points from 13 matches.
This has been some turnaround from the Bengaluru-based side, and Dayal, who was under-pressure to contribute, attributed the fight back of Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the second half of the IPL to the team "switching on the attacking mode."
"Our performances have markedly improved in the last few matches. I think we have switched on that attacking mode in the last few matches. It has been a big positive for us," said Dayal, who took three for 20 against DC, during the post-match press meet.
The left-arm quick also added that even when RCB were going through a losing streak, the dressing room remained a thickly-knit unit and did not allow for the bad run of results to takeover.
"When you lose matches continuously, like it happened with us, morale will come down a bit. But we took it in our stride and bounced back well. But even when we were losing, fingers were not pointed at anyone. We have remained positive throughout the season," he added.
The resurgence of RCB is directly linked with the improved performance of their bowling unit, which was all over the place in the first half of the season. Dayal, who has claimed 13 wickets in 12 matches, credited team bowling coach Adam Griffith for that turnaround.
"The credit goes to our bowling coach. He engages us in specific drills, visualising particular opposition batsmen and we discuss this a lot. "When I go out to bowl, I just think about how to get the batter out or save some runs. All of us think the same way," he added.
RCB still need to beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their last match by a good margin on Saturday (May 18) in Bengaluru, and then hope Lucknow Super Giants lose both their matches to stand a chance of qualifying for the playoffs.
