There is a fresh blow in the Chennai Super Kings camp amid the IPL 2025 season. The CSK team has endured another injury issue, which occurred to them before the clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
CSK have lost another player for the season, but have also swiftly roped in a player for the remainder of the IPL 2025 tournament.

CSK are out of the tournament and are currently trying out their young guns. Dewald Brevis and Ayush Mhatre have been their mid-season recruitments and both have looked promising and prolific with the bat. Amid this, against RCB, the Super Kings were ready to hand an opportunity to youngster Vansh Bedi, but he couldn't play due to an injury.
But as Vansh Bedi is ruled out, CSK have officially roped in Gujarat's Urvil Patel for the remainder of the season.
"Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has signed Urvil Patel as a replacement for Vansh Bedi, who has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament owing to a ligament tear in the left ankle," a statement from IPL read.
Urvil Patel, 26, has garnered attention for his explosive batting prowess in domestic cricket. Notably, he recorded the fastest T20 century by an Indian, achieving a 28-ball hundred during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Additionally, he impressed with a 41-ball century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, underscoring his capability in both T20 and one-day formats.
Recognizing his potential, CSK invited Patel for mid-season trials in late April. During these sessions, he delivered impactful performances, scoring 41 off 20 balls and 50 off 20 balls in two separate innings.
Urvil's brother was also seen announcing the news on social media on Monday, which confirmed the Gujarat player's arrival at the Chennai Super Kings.
