The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Mega Auction will take place on Sunday (November 24) and Monday (November 25) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where the 10 teams will finalize their squads for the upcoming season.
A total of 577 players will be up for grabs over the next two days with 204 slots, including 70 overseas, left to fill after 46 players were retained by the teams ahead of the two-day auction.

The franchises were allowed to retain six players from their 2024 squad either via direct retentions or Right to Match (RTM). All teams retained at least one player with Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals being the only franchises to utilise their full quota of 6 retentions.
KKR and RR will be the only teams that will head into the mega auction without a RTM card, but the two franchises like the remaining eight, can still buy the players they released on October 31st - retention deadline day.
Boosted by a further addition to the purse, franchises are expected to make a huge splash over the next two days with 82 players coming in with highest base price of Rs 2 Crore. Also, there will be 12 marquee players, including Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Jos Buttler among others.
With big name stars from across the cricketing world available at the auction and over Rs 600 Crore left to spend in the franchises' budget, a lot of attention will be on the two-day event in Jeddah.
