IPL 2025 Auction: 'RCB has breathed new Life' - Twitter goes berserk as Bhuvneshwar Kumar returns to Royal Challengers Bengaluru after a Decade

By MyKhel Staff

Royal Challengers Bengaluru made the headline buy of Bhuvneshwar Kumar on Day 2 of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

RCB went in all guns blazing and secured the veteran Indian pacer for an impressive ₹10.75 crore, who returns to the franchise where it all began for him.

Previously a cornerstone of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad, where Bhuvneshwar Kumar was retained for ₹4.20 crore in 2022, RCB went all out this year to secure his services, reflecting his high value in the shortest format.

Adding to his credentials, Bhuvneshwar recently became the first Indian fast bowler to claim 300 T20 wickets.

Renowned for his disciplined bowling and ability to swing the ball both ways, Bhuvneshwar has been a stalwart for the Indian national team and in IPL cricket. His vast experience and expertise, particularly in death overs, will provide a massive boost to RCB's bowling unit. With his ₹10.75 crore price tag, he becomes a symbol of RCB's intent to strengthen their bowling and aim for their maiden IPL title.

Mumbai Indians were also interested in the player but RCB defied all odds and their resilience fended off. The crafty Indian pacer will now join the likes of Yash Dayal, Josh Hazlewood in the RCB ranks, and the acquisition has bolstered the RCB bowling lineup.

As RCB welcome their new acquisition with warm hands, the fans are also very happy with the buy of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. They were lamenting the team on Sunday for not going after their key targets, but the entire contingent of RCB is pretty much stoked with the new star in the bowling ranks.

The fans are over the moon with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has been part of their team before. It is a homecoming for the Indian pacer after some long years and it is to be seen how he impacts the team.

RCB are yet to win an IPL title in their history and as the 18th season of the Indian Premier League arrives next year, they will be hoping Bhuvneshwar to play a key part in breaking the duck.
