Bangladesh international Mustafizur Rahman is one of the prized assets in the shortest format of the game. The 29-year-old who has been a part of the IPL since 2016, has accounted for 61 dismissals at an economy of 8.14. Over the years, he showcased his ability to bowl deceptive cutters, sharp yorkers to keep the batters in check.
It is worth noting that Mustafizur has carved out a reputation as a game-changer, particularly in the death overs. Having represented Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings, Mustafizur has consistently delivered in high-stakes games.

He had a pretty good campaign in IPL 2024 wherein he picked up 14 wickets in 9 games. However, Chennai Super Kings released the left-arm pacer ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, leaving him up for grabs.
Given the pacer's experience, adaptability and death overs expertise, the IPL teams are expected to be in the hunt to secure his services in the upcoming auction.
1. Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Royal Challengers Bengaluru have long been searching for a reliable death bowler and Mustafizur could be the perfect fit. He is known for his exceptional ability to bowl crucial overs at the end. If things work out, he will be able to work with Mohammed Siraj.
This would further strengthen RCB's bowling attack and sort out a long-standing concern. RCB's think-tank would be tempted to target someone like Fizz who can bowl accurate cutters and slower deliveries.
2. Delhi Capitals: The Delhi pitch is typically on the slower side, which means it helps bowlers who can vary their pace and use cutters well. In fact, Mustafizur has previously played for Delhi Capitals and has shown that he can adapt to slower surfaces.
The Bangladesh international can be effective at Arun Jaitley Stadium, especially in death-over scenarios. The Delhi-based franchise failed as a bowling unit in the last season and chances are high that they could show interest to sign Mustafizur at the mega auction.
3. Sunrisers Hyderabad: SRH missed out on winning the title in the last season as they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in the showdown. The 2016 IPL champions have released some pacers, including Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Jaydev Unadkat.
They might look to bring back Mustafizur, who began his IPL career with SRH and had great success there. Moreover, Hyderabad pitch can offer assistance to seamers and bowlers with good variations. Sunrisers could consider Fizz a valuable addition to their bowling unit, given his proven ability to handle the slog overs.
