KL Rahul, an experienced Indian batter, will be among the big names in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Mega Auction 2025, which is scheduled to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday (November 24) and Monday (November 25).
The Karnataka player heads into the auction as one of the most sort after players due to his versatility. Rahul, who made his IPL debut in 2013, brings a wealth of experience in the lucrative league and multiple skills to the game.

Rahul, who was drafted in by Lucknow Super Kings ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction for Rs 17 Crore, was let go by the Lucknow-based franchise ahead of the upcoming big auction due to several reasons.
Although he is being criticized for his strike rate, Rahul has been one of the consistent run-getters in the IPL, scoring 500 plus runs in six of the last seven seasons. Only in the injury-hit 2023 season, Rahul registered a total of 274 runs in 9 innings.
Since IPL 2018, when he was bought by Punjab Kings, then known as Kings XI Punjab, Rahul has aggregated 500 or more runs in every season. And during this period, the 32-year-old also scored 4 centuries, including the 2 for LSG in 2022.
Despite guiding the team to the playoff in their first two seasons, Rahul had fallen out with his team owner Sanjeev Goenka during the 2024 season, possibly resulting in his release as both parties wanted to head separate ways.
As fans await the Karnataka batter's next IPL team, here is a look at Rahul's set number as well as serial number and the base price along with details about when his name could be drawn out for bidding:
The Indian batter has registered himself for a reserve price of Rs 2 Crore and enters the auction as part of the marquee players. With the serial number of 10, Rahul is part of Maquee Set 2.
Having been registered as the Marquee Set 2 player, Rahul's name will be drawn as any player from 7 to 12. The Marquee Set 2 auction could start after the Marquee Set 1, which could finish by 4:30 PM IST. So, Rahul may enter the bidding process post 4:30 PM and mostly before 5:30 PM IST.
