Gujarat Titans have announced their list of retained players and released many familiar faces ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.
Players like David Miller, Mohammed Shami are not retained, whereas Rashid Khan has become the highest-paid player for them. Captain Shubman Gill is set to continue for the Titans while Sai Sudharsan is also in the squad.

Here is the list of players who have been retained:
Gujarat maintained their core team and, in doing so, spent only ₹51 crore. As a result, they will have a purse of ₹69 crore in the upcoming auction, which is enough to build a strong squad around this core team.
Gujarat Titans made their debut in IPL in 2022. The Titans picked up Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, and Hardik Pandya before the auction as retained players, and those three became the core of the team.
In the auction, the Titans managed to build a strong squad, and their highest buy was Kiwi fast bowler Lockie Ferguson (₹10 crore). Rahul Tewatia, costing ₹9 crore, was the second-highest buy. Indian star pacer Mohammed Shami was the third most expensive buy, costing ₹6.25 crore. Other biggest buys were Yash Dayal, R Sai Kishore, and David Miller.
Ferguson was exceptional in the first season, clocking the fastest ball of the tournament. However, his form dropped in the next seasons. Tewatia, on the other hand, had been impressive in the first two seasons, though his bowling ability is rarely used.
The South African hard-hitter David Miller scored 481 runs in 2022 and was the sixth-highest scorer of the season. Mohammed Shami was also exceptional in the first two seasons, taking 20 and 28 wickets respectively. Another fast bowler, Yash Dayal, got released after two average seasons.
