Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) received a slight boost after injured pacer Avesh Khan completed his recovery and linked up with the squad ahead of the IPL 2025 match against Sunrisers Hyderbad (SRH) in Hyderabad.
The Madhya Pradesh pacer has had issue with his right knee, which was related to his workload during the domestic season and has been unavailable since start of the year for the Indian cricket team and his domestic side.

The 28-year-old pacer was initially thought to be sidelined from the first few matches of the IPL 2025, but his arrival will provide a significant boost for a team plagued by injuries to their bowling unit. LSG, who banked on Indian-heavy pace attack, played their season opener without Mayank Yadav, Avesh and Akash Deep.
Shardul Thakur, who came in as a replacement for injured Mohsin Khan a few days before the season got under way, led LSG's pace attack which also included an uncapped Prince Yadav, but the bowling unit failed to defend 209 against Delhi Capitals in their campaign opener.
However, the arrival of Avesh will provide a slight boost for LSG as they prepare to take on SRH at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. LSG took to social media to reveal Avesh has joined the camp and has also started bowling in the nets. Here is a look at Avesh in LSG nets:
Avesh Khan, who spent seasons 2022 and 2023 in LSG, was traded to Rajasthan Royals in a player-for-player exchange as Devdutt Padikkal moved the other way. The Madhya Pradesh pacer, however, was bought back by LSG at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction for Rs 9.75 Crore.
While Avesh has returned, LSG will hope to get more positive news on Mayank Yadav and Akash Deep, who continue their rehabilitation at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. As it stands, there is no update on the pace duo's recovery timeline.
