IPL 2025 Bulletin for April 7

Gujarat Titans Secure Commanding Victory Over Sunrisers Hyderabad

Gujarat Titans flexed their might with a clinical seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chasing 153, captain Shubman Gill anchored the innings with a composed 61* off 43 balls, while Washington Sundar’s brisk 49 and Sherfane Rutherford’s explosive 35* off just 16 balls sealed the deal with 20 balls to spare. The Titans notched up their third consecutive win, tightening their grip on the playoff race as they now sit 2nd in the points table.

SRH Endure Fourth Consecutive Defeat

It’s panic stations in the SRH camp as they slipped to their fourth defeat in a row. Once again, their batting unit failed to fire, folding for a below-par 152. The top order crumbled early, and despite a few flashes of resistance, SRH never looked like posting a match-winning total. The bowling lacked bite, and the body language screamed frustration. A promising campaign is fast unraveling as they remain rooted at the bottom.

Siraj’s Searing Spell Sparks GT Surge

Mohammed Siraj is in the form of his life. With figures of 4/17, the GT speedster tormented SRH’s top order, picking wickets in the powerplay and never letting up. This spell followed his 3/19 in the last match, earning him back-to-back Player of the Match awards. His rhythm, aggression, and accuracy have transformed GT’s pace attack into a serious threat. The Indian pacer also completed 100 IPL wickets in the match and now has a total of 102 scalps.

Jasprit Bumrah lined up for Mumbai appearance

Jasprit Bumrah joined the Mumbai Indians squad for the IPL 2025 and is set to play against Royal Challengers Bengaluru today (April 7). The India speedster suffered a back injury which kept him out for more than three months. The BCCI has cleared him for action and the marquee pacer may feature for the Paltans in the next match.

Virat Kohli chases major milestone against Mumbai Indians

Virat Kohli is on the verge of a fantastic milestone as he steps the field against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede today. The India stalwart has so far been in decent touch and has 97 runs to his name. As he plays against MI, Kohli is just 17 runs away from becoming the first Indian to score 13,000 runs in T20 cricket across teams and competitions. Kohli will also be just the 5th batter in the world to achieve it and he is by far the quickest to reach it.

Rohit Sharma likely to feature against RCB

Rohit Sharma's one-game hiatus may end as he looks to play against RCB today. The India skipper missed out the last match due to a knee injury. He took part in the nets on Sunday and looked decent. MI coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed an assessment yesterday and it looks fine for Rohit to feature against Bengaluru today. So far, the former Mumbai captain has only scored 21 runs in three matches this season.

RCB eye to end decade-long wait at Wankhede

RCB will be hoping to end their Wankhede woes as they aim to win at the West Coast for the first time in 10 years. Their last victory came in 2015 and it will be a challenge for Rajat Patidar and co. to secure a victory. As an incentive, a victory for RCB by more than 42 runs can propel them at the top of the table.

LSG bowler Digvesh Rathi meets idol Sunil Narine before KKR clash

Lucknow Super Giants' Digvesh Rathi met his idol Sunil Narine before their match against KKR, scheduled for Tuesday. Rathi recently spoke about his admiration for Narine and mentioned the KKR star was his inspiration.
