IPL 2025 Bulletin of April 18 From Mumbai s Rejuvenation to Virat Kohli s Milestone Opportunity

Mumbai Indians win two in a Row

Mumbai Indians have now won twice in a row in the IPL 2025 as they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday. Backed with an all-round performance from Will Jacks, the Paltans won the match by 4 wickets. With the victory, they are now placed 7th in the table and will face Chennai Super Kings next on April 20.

Sunrisers Hyderabad only team without an Away win this season

SRH, with the defeat, are now the only remaining team in IPL 2025 to win an away match this season. They have so far played three matches as visitors and have lost all of them. The momentum they got after the Punjab Kings match also lost with the poor defeat in Mumbai. They are currently sitting 9th in the table with just 4 points in seven encounters.

Mumbai Indians secure Unique Record at Wankhede Stadium

Mumbai Indians are now top of a special list after their victory over SRH at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. As the Paltans won the match, they are now the team with most wins at a single venue in IPL while chasing. MI have won 29 matches out of 47 while chasing at the Wankhede, surpassing Kolkata Knight Riders (28 wins off 40 at Eden Gardens).

Rohit Sharma becomes first player to 100 sixes at Wankhede in IPL

Mumbai Indians stalwart Rohit Sharma became the first player to hit 100 sixes at the Wankhede in IPL. Rohit scored 26 runs in just 16 balls and hit 3 sixes on the night. He is also the first non-RCB player to achieve the feat, as RCB trio Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have all hit more than 100 sixes at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Umpires told to go easy on Players' Celebrations

The BCCI has advised the umpires to be a bit more lenient on players' celebrations of picking up wickets. The umpires have booked some players multiple times for celebrations, as LSG spinner Digvesh Rathi has been fined twice already. After huge pressure from fans for some leniency, BCCI has now advised the same to match officials.

Suryakumar Yadav inspects Abhishek Sharma's pocket for a Note

In a hilarious moment at the MI vs SRH match, Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav was seen checking Sunrisers' Abhishek Sharma's pocket for any potential notes. Sharma scored a brilliant hundred in the last match against PBKS and celebrated it with a heartfelt note for the SRH fans. Although Abhishek scored 40 runs against MI, his runs were not enough as the Hyderabad side lost the match.

RCB take on PBKS today

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 continues with a compelling fixture as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) host Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, April 18. As of April 18, both RCB and PBKS have played six matches each, securing four victories and suffering two defeats, accumulating eight points apiece. RCB holds the third position on the points table with a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.672, while PBKS is closely behind in fourth place with an NRR of +0.172.

Virat Kohli needs 55 runs to create prestigious Milestone

Virat Kohli will be in action for RCB against Punjab on Friday and requires 55 runs to rack up a personal milestone. The RCB stalwart has scored 1030 runs against PBKS over the years in IPL, and 55 more will surpass his tally against CSK. If he achieves it, Kohli will then have the most runs in IPL against a single opponent.

Glenn Maxwell head into RCB clash with dismal Record

Glenn Maxwell, currently playing for Punjab Kings, will be facing his old employers in the IPL 2025 today. As Maxwell heads into face RCB, the Australian currently holds a dismal record at his disposal. Maxwell averages 6.64 with the bat since IPL 2024, the lowest among all 75 batters who have batted at least 10 times in the IPL in this timeframe.
