In a remarkable fashion, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to ban two commentators from commentating in the Eden Gardens matches.
Kolkata Knight Riders are up against Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025 on Monday (April 21), and ahead of that, a report from RevSportz claims CAB is infuriated and sent a strong-worded letter to BCCI about banning the two commentators.

As per the report, Harsha Bhogle and New Zealand commentator Simon Doull are the persons of interest, who has irked BCCI after speaking regarding the pitch issue at the Eden Gardens.
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane was not satisfied with the Eden Gardens pitch and reportedly wanted spinning conditions. But the Eden curator, Sujan Mukherjee, rather opted for a sporting wicket and lashed at the KKR bowlers after their defeat against RCB in the first match this season.
And regarding the saga, both Bhogle and Doull took the side of Rahane. Doull even said that KKR should move the team away from Kolkata due to the non-cooperation of the pitch curator.
"If he's (the curator) not taking heed of what the home team wants... I mean, they are paying the stadium fees, they are paying for what's going on in the IPL but if he's still not paying heed of what the home team wants, then just move the franchise away to somewhere else. His job is not to pass an opinion on the game. That's not what he's paid for," Doull had said while speaking with Cricbuzz.
"If they are playing at home, (they) should get the tracks that they think are suited for their bowlers. I saw something (about) what the KKR curator has said," Harsha Bhogle said, echoing the same sentiments.
Amid this, CAB has sided with Mukherjee and has urged BCCI to ban the duo from the stadium. As per the BCCI is concern, they are unlikely to grant the request as both commentators are expected to be present at the stadium today.
If we take a deeper and sane look at it, both Simon Doull and Harsha Bhogle have no wrongdoings at all. They are doing a job, and they were entitled to their opinions.
For CAB, it is a matter of probably protecting their own, which is reflected in their actions so far. KKR, being a home team, must have got the pitch they wanted, but instead, the curator decided to play the central role. And it is also baffling why CAB has gone all attacking on two commentators, rather than co-operating with KKR in the first place.
