IPL 2025: CSK overseas stars set to Return for Action, Only One Player Unavailable
Chennai Super Kings will return to action in IPL 2025 on May 20, when they take on Rajasthan Royals in what will be their first game since the tournament was suspended earlier this month due to military tensions between India and Pakistan.
While the five-time champions are already out of playoff contention, they will look to end their campaign on a positive note by securing wins in their remaining two matches.

There had been uncertainty around the availability of foreign players across franchises, but CSK received a boost ahead of the league's resumption. CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed to PTI that all overseas players except Jamie Overton will be available for selection.
"All CSK foreign players barring Jamie Overton are expected to join the squad ahead of IPL resumption," the CSK CEO told PTI.
This is particularly encouraging for CSK, who can now provide further exposure to young talent like Dewald Brevis. The South African youngster had shown promise in his limited opportunities earlier in the season.
Along with Brevis, key foreign players such as Sam Curran and Matheesha Pathirana are also set to rejoin the squad. There were initial concerns regarding the availability of New Zealand internationals Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway, but both are now expected to be back with the team for the final phase.
The spotlight will also be on CSK's emerging Indian talent. Ayush Mhatre and Urvil Patel impressed with their intent and energy in the last few matches before the break, and the young core are likely to get more opportunities in the flag end of this season.
