Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched a crucial 14-run win over Delhi Capitals (DC) to keep their playoff hopes alive in the IPL 2025 on Tuesday (April 29).
After being put in to bat, KKR posted a challenging total of 204/9, with quickfire contributions from Sunil Narine (27) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (26). Youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a composed knock of 44 off 32 balls to anchor the innings. Despite a late surge from Delhi's bowlers, KKR's aggressive approach ensured a strong finish.

In the chase, DC got off to a decent start but faltered in the middle overs. Faf du Plessis top-scored with 44, while Axar Patel chipped in with a handy 36. However, Sunil Narine turned the game in KKR's favour with a match-defining spell of 3 for 27, removing key batters at crucial junctures. Anukul Roy and Harshit Rana added timely wickets to dent DC's momentum. DC eventually managed 190/9 in their 20 overs, falling short of the target.
Axar Patel (DC Captain): I think how the wicket was and how we bowled in the powerplay, we gave away 15-20 runs too many. We also lost a few wickets in a soft manner. The positive was how we restricted them after the powerplay, coming to the batting, even though few batters failed, 2-3 of us contributed and took it so close. When Vipraj was batting there was hope, if Ashutosh was there then they could have repeated the first game. My skin got peeled off as I dived on the practice wickets to stop the ball, but the good thing is there are 3-4 days break and hopefully I will be able to recover.
Ajinkya Rahane (KKR Captain):
