IPL 2025: DC vs RCB Award Winners, Player of the Match, Stats, Post-Match Presentation

DC vs RCB: Royal Challengers Bengaluru produced a commanding performance to defeat Delhi Capitals by six wickets in their IPL 2025 clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, April 27.

The victory was set up by a brilliant bowling display from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, whose three-wicket haul helped restrict Delhi to a total that was always within RCB's reach.

DC vs RCB

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, RCB's decision was justified early in the innings. Bhuvneshwar, with his trademark swing and accuracy, delivered a match-winning spell, finishing with figures of 3 for 33 in his four overs.

His key wickets of Delhi's top order, including the dismissals of Rahul (41 off 39) and Stubbs (34 off 18), stopped any real momentum from building for the Capitals. The middle-order faltered in the face of pressure, with Bhuvneshwar adding another key scalp in Ashutosh Sharma.

Delhi's early aggression, sparked by a blistering 28 off 11 balls from Abishek Porel, quickly fizzled out as RCB's disciplined bowling attack, including support from Josh Hazlewood (2/36) and Suyash Sharma (0/22), kept the Capitals under control.

Delhi could only manage a total of 162/8 in their 20 overs, a total that looked under-par on a pitch that favored the batsmen.

Chasing 163 for victory, RCB's chase got off to a rocky start as they lost both Jacob Bethell and Devdutt Padikkal to Axar Patel in quick succession. Captain Rajat Patidar was then run out after a mix-up with Virat Kohli, leaving RCB in a precarious position at 26/3.

However, Kohli's experience and composure under pressure came to the fore as he anchored the chase, adding 119 runs with Krunal Pandya. Kohli made 51 off 47 balls before falling to Dushmantha Chameera, but by then, the foundation for victory was firmly laid.

Krunal Pandya, playing a crucial role in the middle overs, was the standout performer with an unbeaten 73 off 47 balls, guiding RCB across the line with ease. Tim David provided the finishing touches, smashing a quickfire 19* off 5 balls as RCB reached the target with nine balls to spare.

While Kohli and Krunal's partnership ultimately secured the win, it was Bhuvneshwar Kumar's outstanding bowling performance that proved to be the turning point in the match. His timely breakthroughs, including the vital dismissals of Rahul and Stubbs, meant RCB faced only a modest chase, which they comfortably chased down.
