IPL 2025: Fan Faces Big Punishment After Breaching Security to Touch Riyan Parag's Feet During RR vs KKR in Guwahati

By MyKhel Staff

A fan faces big punishment after breaching security at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati to touch the feet of Rajasthan Royals' stand-in skipper Riyan Parag during the IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday (March 26).

Riyan Parag, one of the rising stars in Indian cricket and one of Assam's biggest stars, is now the captain of Rajasthan Royals for the first three games. Although his captaincy tenure has not started well, Parag is still a hero for the people of Assam.

And during RR's game against KKR, the craze for him was exhibited when a fan breached security in the 12th over of KKR's innings. As Riyan was set to bowl to Quinton de Kock, the fan ran evaded security and reached the pitch to touch the feet of the young cricketer of Assam and hugged him.

This is the second such offence since the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League got underway last weekend. In the IPL 2025 opener, one fan breached the Eden Gardens security during Kolkata Knight Riders' match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Although it was the home match of the defending champions, the very eager fan ran into the field, breacing securing to fall at the feel of star Indian and RCB batter Virat Kohli. The incident happened moments after the star India batter reached his half-century.

The fan jumped over the guardrails and ran towards him. Virat was visibly surprised as the fan grabbed his legs and fell on the ground. However, the fan's action landed him in trouble as he was detained by the Kolkata police over a case of security breach. A similar punishment could be on the cards for the fan in Guwahati.
