IPL 2025 Fan Pulse: Orange Army Upbeat despite SRH's Rocky Start - Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy in Focus before GT clash

It has been a dismal outing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025, as last year's runners-up outfit has already lost three matches in the first four encounters.

After a winning start against the Rajasthan Royals, the three consecutive defeats currently place them at the foot of the table.

Orange Army Upbeat despite SRH s Rocky Start

As Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) gear up to take on Gujarat Titans (GT) today, their passionate fanbase remains optimistic despite a rocky start to the season. There's still confidence in their team's ability to turn things around.

SRH fans are rallying behind their team, hoping for a dominating performance at home ground today. They always support the team with their whole soul at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, and today and the next days will be the same.

The ultra-aggressive brand of SRH's batting has been the cornerstone of their upsurge in recent years. But the ongoing season has witnessed an underwhelming performance in the batting department. The likes of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have failed to provide them the blistering starts, and that has dented their performance so far this season.

MyKhel had a talk with a few of the SRH fans who live and breath their favourite team. And as they are disappointed with current showing, the entire Orange Army is pretty optimistic that their team will be able to turn things around.

The Orange Army Upbeat ahead of GT Clash

SRH's early struggles have left their supporters a bit wary, but there's an underlying belief that the team will bounce back. One fan, Rijul Shah, a Bengaluru resident, shared his thoughts on why the team has lost its last three matches.

"The leaders of the bowling attack, Shami and Cummins, are coming back from injury and not at their very best, hence batsmen are trying to give extra cushion to bowlers by scoring 25-30 extra runs," says Rijul to MyKhel.

He also adds that SRH's opponents are now more aware of the strengths and weaknesses of key players like Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy (NKR) as they have been representing India at the international level. Despite these challenges, Rijul is hopeful that SRH's return to their home ground will provide the spark needed for a turnaround.

Belief in the Captain and the Players

While SRH's form has been inconsistent, there's still an unwavering belief in the team's potential. Rajesh Vaduguru, a fan from Chennai, shared his confidence in the team's resilience.

"As SRH fans, we didn't get the start to the season we expected. Scoring 286 in the first match was an explosive start, but losing three matches in a row after that made us a bit wary. That said, we've played only four games so far, and I'm still confident in my team and in our captain - they will come back stronger," he said.

Rajesh also had a special mention for Abhishek Sharma, who has been struggling in the initial matches but is tipped for a strong comeback today.

For Akhilesh Golla, a Hyderabad resident and corporate employee, the team's resilience is key to their recovery. Despite the three consecutive losses, Akhilesh maintains an unwavering belief in SRH's ability to turn things around.

"The team lost consecutive matches but the optimism is pretty high. I am sure that we will bounce back stronger than ever. Abhishek and Nitish Reddy have a point to prove, and they will make a thumping impact in today's game. Abhishek Sharma, especially, going to break all the shackles and it is going to be the overall team's contribution," Akhilesh confidently remarks.

He also expressed his trust in SRH's star bowler, Pat Cummins, saying, "In Pat Cummins, we believe and in our team SRH, we believe."

SRH has a vibrant presence outside India as well and a fan afar from the United States is optimistic that the GT match will be the start of their turnaround.

"The comeback is definitely on the cards and this game against Gujarat can act as the right impetus for the team to gain momentum heading into the next leg of the tournament with other big games coming up," says Thakur Manish Singh, who lives in USA, working as a software developer.

As SRH fans eagerly await the match against Titans, there is a sense of cautious optimism in the air. While the team has faced early setbacks, there's still a strong belief that their combination of explosive batting and experienced bowling will come good. Although they remain at the bottom for now, it just takes a good day or two to turn things around - ain't it!
