Rajat Patidar is the captain who has ended RCB's long wait for the IPL trophy.
"I think it is special for me, special for Virat Kohli and the fans. They all deserve it. After the Qualifier 1, we thought that we can win it this season. I think 190 was good on this track as it went slow and the way bowlers executed plans were tremendous to watch. Krunal is a wicket-taking bowler. I had a lot of believe in him. Suyash also bowled well and the fast bowlers were superb as well.
(Virat and winning IPL) It was a great opportunity to do captaincy for him. Ee Sala Cup Namdu." Patidar squares off..

When we batted, we realised the slower you bowl the better it is. In this format, you need guts to do it. I just backed myself, thought I'll vary my pace and keep it on the slower side more often. My biggest strength has been to learn what the situation requires. I knew I had to be brave to get wickets tonight. Thought I'd do that by bowling slow. If you'd have bowled quick, it'd have been a good wicket. But if you mixed it up it was tougher. Pitch actually got easier in the second innings. Have enjoyed my time with RCB so far, I said on day one I wanted to win. I told Hardik that the Pandya household will have nine trophies in 11 years.

Player of the Match:Krunal Pandya - 2/17 in 4 overs.
The RCB player changed the course of the match with his brilliant bowling. He got the wickets of Prabhsimran Singh and Josh Inglis.
After put into bat by Shreyas Iyer, RCB set a competitive total of 190/9 in their allotted 20 overs against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Opting to bat first after losing the toss, RCB's innings was marked by a promising start, a steady middle phase, and a faltering finish.
RCB's innings began with early setbacks. Opener Phil Salt was dismissed for 18 runs in the second over, and Mayank Agarwal followed soon after, leaving RCB at 56/2. Rajat Patidar then contributed a valuable 40 runs, stabilizing the innings alongside Virat Kohli. Kohli played a measured knock, scoring 43 runs off 35 balls, anchoring the middle overs before being dismissed at 131/4 in the 15th over.
Following Kohli's departure, Liam Livingstone added 36 runs, providing momentum to the innings. However, the lower order struggled to capitalize on the platform set by the top order. RCB lost their last four wickets for just 19 runs in the final overs, with the team finishing at 190/9.
Punjab Kings' bowlers executed their plans effectively, especially in the death overs. Azmatullah Omarzai was instrumental in breaking key partnerships, including the crucial wicket of Kohli. Arshdeep Singh's disciplined bowling in the final overs further restricted RCB's scoring, preventing them from reaching the 200-run mark.
PBKS made a steady start to their run chase and Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh gave a solid start. Phil Salt took a magnificent innovative catch in the deep, which sent Arya back to the hut, but PBKS built another partnership as Prabhsimran and Josh Inglis took them to 70 for 1 at the end of eight overs.
But after the strategic time-out, Prabhsimran was foxed by Krunal Pandya, and then right after, captain Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for just 1 run as PBKS were 81 for 3 after ten overs. Josh Inglis was also picked up by Krunal as RCB's key spinner pulled off a stellar spell of 2 for 17 in his four overs. Shashank put a valiant effort but Punjab fell short of 6 runs as RCB won their maiden IPL title.
