IPL 2025 Final: Chris Gayle Rocks PBKS Turban, RCB Jersey & Fire Shoes, Backs Both Teams in Viral Show of Support!

IPL 2025 Final: West Indies cricket icon and self-styled "Universe Boss" Chris Gayle has set social media ablaze ahead of the much-anticipated IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) with a flamboyant fusion of fandom that only he could pull off.

In an Instagram post that's gone viral, Gayle proudly donned a striking red turban - a nod to his days with PBKS - while wearing the iconic RCB jersey, complemented by a pair of customised sneakers in the franchise's bold red and gold hues. His caption said it all: "Let The Game Begin! RCB v PBKS #OneIndia #IPL #Finals #2025".

Fans couldn't get enough of the look, which captured the essence of Gayle's relationship with both franchises. The Jamaican powerhouse, who has thrilled IPL audiences for over a decade, played some of his most memorable cricket for both teams - and ahead of their historic clash at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, he's clearly not choosing sides.

From 2011 to 2017, Gayle was an unstoppable force for RCB, amassing 3,163 runs in just 85 matches at an explosive strike rate of 152.73. His innings of 175* remains the stuff of IPL folklore. In 2022, he was fittingly inducted into the RCB Hall of Fame - a gesture acknowledging his dominance in red and black.

But Gayle's affection for PBKS is just as real. He played for Punjab from 2018 to 2021, bringing his usual flair to the north Indian outfit. In 41 games for PBKS, he racked up 1,339 runs at a strike rate of over 143, including a scintillating 104*.

As fans gear up for Tuesday's final, many see Gayle's dual show of support as a symbol of unity in competition. His turban pays tribute to the Punjabi culture he embraced during his time in Mohali, while the RCB jersey is a reminder of the fireworks he produced at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

RCB, who have finished runners-up three times (2009, 2011, and 2016), are desperate to end their title drought. PBKS too are seeking their maiden crown, having lost their only final appearance in 2014 to Kolkata Knight Riders. The stakes couldn't be higher, and Gayle's post has only added fuel to the fire.

Despite his split loyalties, many believe Gayle's heart leans slightly toward RCB. After all, it was in Bengaluru where he carved out his IPL legacy. But the red turban makes one thing clear - Punjab still holds a special place in the Caribbean legend's heart.

With both teams finishing in the top two this season, and RCB having already beaten PBKS twice in 2025, the final promises fireworks.

One thing's certain - when Chris Gayle says, "Let the game begin!" - the world listens.
