Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended their long wait to win their maiden IPL title as they beat Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final on Tuesday (June 3).
In a historic culmination to the 2025 Indian Premier League, RCB clinched their maiden title by narrowly defeating PBKS by 6 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Batting first, RCB posted a total of 190/9. Virat Kohli anchored the innings with a composed 43 off 35 balls, while Mayank Agarwal and Rajat Patidar provided valuable contributions. Despite a promising start, RCB lost four wickets for just 19 runs in the final overs, and could only manage to 190 runs.
Chasing 191, PBKS faced early setbacks with the dismissals of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh. Shashank Singh's unbeaten 61 off 30 balls kept their hopes alive, but disciplined bowling from RCB, particularly by Krunal Pandya (2/17) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, restricted PBKS to 184/7 as RCB won their maiden trophy.
Virat Kohli was in tears while the entire team was in frenzy mode as their emotional rollercoaster ended in triumph. The franchise had endured a lot of heartbreak, but the performance and the season for RCB this year has been excellent, which deserved won them the trophy. On the final, Krunal Pandya had a special performance as he picked up 2 wickets for 17 runs in his four overs, thus completely shifting the dynamics in their favour.
