As Team India scratch their heads in regard to Jasprit Bumrah's back injury, the ICC Champions Trophy is just a less than a month's time away.
Well many have predicted that the star Indian bowler will not be available for the major event, former India cricketer, Mohammed Kaif feels that if Bumrah is not fit for the upcoming IPL 2025, it will be bad news for Mumbai Indians for sure.

''I don't think Bumrah will be fully fit. I know how a back injury feels like. It will take a minimum of 2-3 months to recover', Kaif said on Cricket With Kaif show.
''If Bumrah is not available for the IPL, then Mumbai Indians will definitely get eliminated as they had a poor campaign in 2024. So it's very important for them to have him. Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma will be itching to get their hands on the trophy and if Bumrah is not part of the squad, then it would be bad news'', he further added.
Mumbai experienced a challenging 2024 IPL season, culminating in a last-place finish on the points table. Under the new leadership of Hardik Pandya, who took over as captain prior to the season, the team secured only four victories out of 14 matches, totaling eight points.
According to a recent report by the Times of India, Jasprit Bumrah's availability for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled from February 19 to March 9, remains uncertain. The 31-year-old pacer's recurring back injury will undergo evaluation by New Zealand-based orthopedic specialist Dr. Rowan Schouten. Bumrah's participation in the eight-team tournament will depend on the results of this assessment and the subsequent recommendations by the surgeon.
This is not the first time Bumrah has dealt with back issues. He underwent treatment for a similar injury in 2022, which also ruled him out of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia that year. Given the situation, the BCCI is reportedly exploring options for a potential replacement, as Bumrah's recovery timeline casts doubts on his readiness for the marquee event.
