The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially confirmed the resumption of the TATA IPL 2025 season.
BCCI has decided to move forward with the remainder of the tournament under enhanced safety protocols after the ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

The final phase will start with the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders, as it was originally scheduled. The matches which were not played due to the hiatus will be played following May 18.
The remaining fixtures of the IPL 2025 will comprise 17 matches, spread across six different venues. The action resumes on May 17, with the grand finale scheduled for June 3, 2025. The revised calendar will also include two double-headers, both slated for upcoming Sundays, ensuring a compact and viewer-friendly format.
The matches will be played in Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Kolkata and Hyderabad - who were originally set to host playoff matches, have been removed as venues.
The venues for the playoff matches will be announced soon, as the BCCI continues to assess optimal locations based on logistical and security considerations. The playoffs will be played in accordance with the normal schedule, as it will span across the final week of the tournament.
The BCCI has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to India's armed forces for their unwavering courage and dedication. Their efforts have played a pivotal role in ensuring that the league could resume safely.
The Board reiterated its unwavering commitment to the national interest, balancing the spirit of the sport with respect for national priorities. This resumption is a testament to the unity and resilience of the country in times of uncertainty.
