GT vs MI: In an electrifying clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians by 36 runs in the 9th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Opting to bowl first, Mumbai Indians faced an uphill battle as Gujarat Titans posted an imposing total of 196/8 in their allotted 20 overs.

Captain Shubman Gill led from the front with a solid 38 off 27 balls, anchoring the innings alongside Sai Sudharsan, who scored a quickfire 63 from 41 deliveries. Jos Buttler added fireworks with a blistering 39 off 24 balls, maintaining a strike rate of 162.50.
Despite wickets falling at regular intervals, Sherfane Rutherford's impactful 18 from 11 balls and Kagiso Rabada's late flourish with an unbeaten 7 from 5 deliveries propelled the Titans to a competitive total. Mumbai's bowlers, led by Hardik Pandya (2/29) and Deepak Chahar (1/39), tried to contain the run flow but struggled against the Titans' aggressive intent.
Mumbai's innings began on a shaky note, losing Rohit Sharma for a duck off Mohammed Siraj in the very first over. Ryan Rickelton's slow 6 off 9 balls further hampered the chase. Tilak Varma tried to stabilize the innings with 39 from 36 balls, but the required run rate kept climbing.
Suryakumar Yadav's counter-attacking 48 off 28 deliveries brought some hope for the visitors, but Prasidh Krishna's disciplined spell (2/18) extinguished any chances of a comeback. Hardik Pandya's 11 from 17 balls and Robin Minz's brief 3 off 6 failed to make an impact.
Naman Dhir (18* off 11) and Mitchell Santner (18* off 9) fought hard towards the end, but Mumbai could only muster 160/6 in their 20 overs. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna were the standout bowlers for Gujarat Titans, supported by Sai Kishore (1/37) and Rabada (1/21).
