The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has dismissed ongoing speculation about Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) planning to shift their base away from Hyderabad, calling the reports "baseless" and "malicious." In an official communication sent to Mike Hill, the HCA President's Office clarified that no formal email or correspondence had been received from the SRH management on this matter.
The controversy stems from a dispute between the HCA and the SRH franchise during the 2025 IPL season, primarily related to ticketing issues at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The situation reportedly escalated to a point where SRH allegedly considered moving their base out of Hyderabad - a claim that has sparked widespread speculation in recent days.

But MyKhel was informed about the ongoing saga, and a statement sent from the Hyderabad Cricket Association said that the issue is just to tarnish the relationship between HCA and SRH.
"There is absolutely no truth in the reports being circulated on social media and some websites. it is fully wrong and misleading people on social media and some media house," a source from HCA said to MyKhel.
The HCA has questioned the source and intent behind the reports, particularly pointing to the leakage of alleged emails.
"If emails are indeed being cited, what is the conspiracy behind leaking such information from unidentified or unofficial sources? Why were these not communicated through proper HCA or SRH channels?," a statement from HCA wrote.
Terming the incident a "malicious campaign" aimed at creating distrust, a statement from HCA stated, "This is a malicious campaign by some people to tarnish the reputation of HCA-SRH".
The association urged media outlets to seek clarity directly from SRH to determine the authenticity of the supposed emails and avoid being swayed by unverified claims. As of now, Sunrisers Hyderabad have not issued any official response regarding the matter. MyKhel tried to contact SRH but to no avail.
